“Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated.”
It starts from the moment I wake up, until the time I go to bed. Whether I like it or not,
I am soaking up simply everything around me, and all things I encounter. This change in season
is actually a really good time to think about all the things you take in on a daily basis.
It's quite a bit overwhelming isn't it?
A few things that may help;
1. Get rid of all that junk in your e-mail. It's time to unsubscribe. To lots of things.
2. Get rid of half your clothes. They don't fit you anyway. Sort through your clothes.
Then, a} get rid of those clothes your going to fit into when you just lose 10 lbs.
b} get rid of those clothes you'll fit into if you gain 10 lbs. Now, keep what is left
and put outfits together from them. Add accessories. From here on out, every
time you purchase a new article of clothing, donate two from your closet. Simplify.
3. Organize your closet by color to give you a better sense of what items you buy most.
At the start of every season, flip all your hangers around, so they face backwards.
After you wear something, hang it up with the hanger facing forwards.
Anything on a backwards hanger at the end of the season is an item destined for donation.
4. Have a plan. My best days begin with a plan. Some people organize their week on Sunday nights—
others like to plan their Tuesday when they’re wrapping up Monday. No matter what your style,
planning out your day in advance will leave you feeling more prepared and ready to face the world.
Recognizing which areas of your life need a little simplification is a great step towards making a change.
What have you done lately to simplify your life? I'd love to hear about it!
