:: My Birthday Month: Day 30

June 30- Today, lastly, my special message for you:

Try to take in all of the beauty that surrounds you everyday. Sit quietly during your day and watch as the world spins around you, the leaves, the glorious breezes, rain, early morning fog, the smiles of complete strangers, sunshine, flowers and water, allow all of this to bring you inspiration and sheer joy. Enjoy the process of slowing down just long enough to really see and feel all of this beauty is what living life is really and truly all about. And that folks is how I enjoyed my birthday month. Thank you so much for sharing it with me.

:: My Birthday Month: Day 29

June 28- Reliving those glorious childhood summer days!

Ride your bike, swing for a while when you visit the park, create a chalk masterpiece on your driveway, walk through the puddles after a good rain, pick flowers and bring them into your home to enjoy for days, catch fireflies with the kids, blow bubbles {kids and dogs alike love this!}, eat fresh fruits and veggies, shop at the farmers market for groceries, go swimming, have a water balloon fight,  eat a snow cone or a gourmet popsicle, take a joy ride blaring your favorite summer song, go horseback riding through the trails, climb a tree, lie in the grass and watch the clouds go by, break out that hula hoop {it's great exercise}, spend the day at the beach, make a sandcastle, collect shells, visit the zoo, go to a theme park, explore a new town, create a nature mandala, and lastly, and my all time favorite: go out for some delicious ice cream at a different place every Sunday!

:: My Birthday Month: Day 28

June 28- Be a traveler, not a tourist

Try new things, explore, meet new people, and look far beyond the things that are right in front of you. These are essential to understanding the world we all live in.

:: My Birthday Month: Day 27

Practice Hygge anytime of the year... even summer

What kinds of things bring higgle into summer? Easy, I made a whole list of them just for you!

1. Go camping somewhere beautiful, by the ocean, a lake, a river, anywhere you feel is beautiful and peaceful and will bring you peace and the awe of nature.

2. Dine outside for dinner under the stars, enjoying the night, relaxing to the sounds of night.

3. Head to the beach, or a lake and watch the sun set. There's nothing quite like it in the world.

4. Take a stroll through an arboretum, gardens are so beautiful this time of year, and buy a plant while your there to add to your own landscape at home to enjoy forever.

5. Set up a hammock, or a lounge chair outside, add a good book, and enjoy the sunshine for a while.

6. Create a beautiful area in your backyard to enjoy with friends and family as you get together.

7. Add fresh flowers throughout your house, and replenish often. Bringing the beauty of the outdoors inside is refreshing and calming.

8. Pick fresh fruit, or at the very least, take advantage of the bounty of fruit and eat plenty of it.

9. Hang your bedding outside to dry for that wonderful smell as you lay down to sleep!

10. As often as you can, open those windows! Let that wonderful air breeze through the house.

:: My Birthday Month: Day 26

June 26- Everything will work again if you just unplug it for a while, even you!

I am again going to stress that it will do you a lot of good to unplug for periods of time. It's up to you how much time, but I think a few times daily, and about 2 hours before retiring for the night is a good rule of thumb. Think about breaking away from electronics for whole weekends at a time, and use that time to meditate and get back to nature, you will be a the better for it.

:: My Birthday Month: Day 25

June 25th- In pursuit of mindfulness

Being fully in each moment is not an easy thing to do by any means, it demands that you really pay attention and practice focusing on the things that are really most important. I try to think about just being instead of doing, in watching and listening to the nourishing rain, instead of worrying about becoming wet, on immersing myself into a wonderful book, instead of watching upsetting news feeds. Put simply, whatever you're doing, just do it with your whole being. Don't think about the past, don't think about the future, don't think about what you're going to do next, just focus entirely on what you're doing right now, at this moment in time.

:: My Birthday Month: Day 24

June 24- Focus every day on what brings you happiness, and sprinkle it in throughout your day.

You have thought and written down all the things that make you happy, things that you want to do, try every single day to incorporate many of those things so that you have moments of pure bliss during your busy and hectic day. I managed to get in a swim, a walk, and even stole an hour just to walk with my camera in hand. Wonderful.

:: My Birthday Month: Day 23

June 23- Try to see the beauty in everything {or you'll miss the good stuff}

Do you try to see the good and the beautiful in everything? You should. It's everywhere. Are you missing it? In the beautiful morning, taking in fresh air, eating a piece of juicy, fresh fruit, basking in the glow of the sun, or, the light of the full moon, the smile on the face of a total stranger, the laughter of children, and on and on. Put your spectacles on and take a good hard look around you before you miss all the good and all of the beauty that life has to give.

:: My Birthday Month: Day 22

June 22- Time to Listen To The Music...

Music can take us to places that carry us away to places we want to go... even for just a little while. As I have always said, make a playlist for all of your moods. Happy, sad, road trip, walking, a lazy afternoon, dancing, and everything else in between! Do it! Music has a way of swaying your mood in just the right direction you need at just the right time!

:: My Birthday Month: Day 21

June 21- Make Space in your life.

Clean out your desk at work, get that clothes in order, separate your accessories, empty your attic, get that garage cleaned out once and for all. It clears out your life... leaving you feeling free in every way.

:: My Birthday Month: Day 20

June 20- Laugh. As much and as often as you can.

How? Easy. Time for some funny, funny movies. You know the ones. The ones that make you feel good, make you laugh way down and bubbles up until you burst into laughter. Even better... invite friends over for a movie marathon of a few super funny movies. There's nothing better than a room full of people laughing out of control! Fun!

:: My Birthday Month: Day 19

June 19- Pick someone who really needs your special care today and help them.

We all know that person. That person who is struggling with something in life. I have one such person in my life. My friend mary. She still lives back home where I am from, and she is very lonely. Since I have moved, she has struggled with every day things. She becomes depressed easily with her health, her job, her friends that are left. Last year she spent Thanksgiving and Christmas by herself. That should NEVER happen. I felt so bad. So, to give her something to look forward to, I'm bringing her to me this year. I told her choose Thanksgiving -or- Christmas and come down here with me! She can choose! It's already made a world of difference in her attitude, and given her something fun and exciting to look forward to. Funny how something so little can change someone's total life!

:: My birthday Month: Day 18

June 18- Treat yourself to a day off! Have yourself a break from the normal routine

That's right. A day home by yourself is always a good idea. I'm having a spa day for myself. Total pampering indeed. A homemade facial, mani/pedi, all the things that make me feel special and beautiful! A day to lay in the sun, exercise in the pool, go biking, garden a little... a perfect kind of a day off. And  off I go to enjoy just that, starting now!

:: My Birthday Month: Day 17 {My Birthday!}

June 17- My Birthday! Do a random act of kindness!

And so I did. All over the place. I hosted a pool party for both my birthday and also Father's Day which is also on the same day! It was a great day, surrounded by friends, family, and neighbors alike! So much fun! what can I say? The day was PERFECT.

My Birthday Month: Day 16

June 16- Have some fun already! {Don't take life or yourself too seriously}

Sometimes we get wayyy too caught up in the little things that drive us crazy, or try a little too hard to solve other peoples problems... I say concentrate much more on your life, on your happiness first. Little old you isn't going to solve the worlds problems, or even those of the people around you, only they can. So take your little slice of heaven and run with it I say. Offer your good advice to others, and then let it go. Find your fun stuff and do it. {you made a list of them, remember?}

:: My Birthday Month: Day 15

June 15- Make a loose schedule for yourself {track all the things that need to be in  your week}

I keep a loose schedule for myself daily. I know what I need to get daily. By scheduling things, I can stretch them out over several days giving myself more time in each day to do other things that I'd really like to be doing more. I even give myself things to get done while at work, like walking during my lunch, taking the stairs up four flights, drinking tea and enough water... there are many things to add to my day even at work that leaves open time for myself when I'm off work. I make phone calls when I'm on my breaks, I text friends to let them know that I'm thinking about them, so many little things can be done in 5 minutes or less. Don't let time pass you by... organize next your time. Then, schedule in some fun with all the free time you've just opened up.

My Birthday month: Day 14

June 14- Begin to simplify your life- How much time do you want to spend on cleaning?

It's very simple to become a very organized person. Why do it? Because it will cut your time in half, it will allow you the freedom to breathe again, and it will allow you the time you really want to do the  things you really want to do.

How to begin? Purge, purge, purge. Get rid of anything and everything you can. Think of it this way, if you haven't used and item or worn an item in the last year-it's got to go. That's my simple answer. I know, you feel like nothing is that simple, but it really is. It leaves you with less to have to clean, take care of etc:...leaving you with more time to do the wonderful things that you love to do. Think it over. Do you want to be a slave to your home? I think not.

:: My Birthday month: Day 13

June 13- Separate yourself from negative/irrational/radical people

And there is a good reason for that. So many people are sadly, polarized by radical politics. Closed minded, and many times seemingly hoping that we as a country fail. It's sad, sad, sad. I stay completely away from total fake, negative and depressingly wrong news, and anyone or anything that tries to sap the very high energy that is going on all around me! Times are good again. Really good. I can only hope that people can sit back and enjoy these good times rather than make up problems that it seems they hope will upset and irritate me into action. Not going to happen. I'm really happy. These days I feel better and stronger about being a christian {thank goodness} even though there are still plenty of people around trying to shame christians. {why?} It's no longer a field day on us. Things are really seeming to straighten up. So, in short, relieve yourself of the negative people of all kinds, it only hurts your psyche. Trust that your inner feelings are correct and steer away from the negative.

:: My Birthday Month: Day 12

June 12-Find your special word, your quote, your mantra and live it everyday

Sometimes when I get e-mails from people, they have a little quote added under their name. I have always loved that, and so years ago I added one to my own, and I have kept it there ever since. It reads "Shine, even if the sun doesn't". What does that mean? Lots of things doesn't it?

What kind of a quote would you like to put under your name? Do you choose a special word each year to live by? How about a mantra that you choose to follow? Think about that. I try to remind myself each and every day of how I promised myself I wanted to live each day. What my goals for the year are. Am I taking daily steps to get there? These are the small things that I meditate on first thing in the morning. I sort of make a running list of what I want to accomplish each day. I try to journal each morning so that I can put my thoughts down on paper and I return to it and re-read it often to make sure I'm not going off course. The course that I have chosen for myself. It helps, it really helps you to stay on top of your game. Try it and see how it can work in your life.

:: My Birthday month: Day 11

June 11- Be available to someone who needs you. {That means really listen}

Who needs you? Think about that. Do you know someone who is struggling in some way? Perhaps a medical condition that they are dealing with, a marriage on the rocks, depression, an inner struggle, whatever it may be, take some time to meet face to face to be there fas someone to lean on, someone who will quietly listen. Just be there. They will never forget it. And you could really help them. There are times when just having someone to talk to makes all the difference in the world. Remember that.

:: My Birthday Month: Day 10

June 10- Time to make a list of all the things that you love doing

Have you ever done that? Made a list of all the things you enjoy doing? Things like traveling, crafting, sight-seeing, hiking, biking, swimming...etc... Why is this important? So many times we find ourselves wondering what we could be doing, thinking of plans to make from a few hours to a few days, well, cut the time in half by keep a running list of those things. Write down things that take a couple hours, a few hours, a half-a-day, a whole day, and an entire weekend. Always be prepared. I actually keep a bag ready to go with things like swimming suits, towels, sunscreen, bug spray, art supplies {for drawing}, my camera readied, and a set of clothes. That way, when I want to go, I just simply go because I am basically, always ready.

:: My Birthday month: Day 9

June 9- Practice the art of kindness {with everyone and everything}

How hard can that be right? Well, it's not as easy at it sounds. Patience is a big part of this trust me. In order to be kind with everything, you must be able to sit back and allow others to be themselves, to take as much time as they need to explain something to you, to show you how to do something, or even to drive as slow as a little old lady while you just keep smiling and being nice about the whole thing. Like you're not growing old waiting for the end game here. Sigh. It's just not that easy folks. I am a bit on the impatient side when it comes to my time. I'm sorry, but that is just the way I am. I do not have years for things to happen. I just don't. I am plenty nice, I really am, then, there comes a point that in order to remain nice I must remove myself from your presence to get some peace of mind and normalcy back into my life. Doesn't matter what it is or what I'm doing, or who I am with. Sometimes, enough is just enough. Of course, do all things in kindness, everybody deserves nothing less, but then, when you're all done. Spend some quiet time with yourself thinking about how grateful you are to be alone. People can be really needy, and that's fine to a point. I can be really, really nice also to a point. Kindness takes energy, patience, and self control. Believe it. But, in the end, it is really worth the effort you put in. Kindness really does go a long way... what they don't tell you is how exhausting it is.

:: My Birthday month: Day 8

June 8- Do something totally unexpected. I'm guessing that you may really enjoy it!

Like what?!!! Is that what you're asking? Well, my niece and I went out blueberry picking, it was so fun! We had a great time together, and in the end, tons of blueberries! We froze a lot of them, and then she wondered, "what am I going to do with them?" Well, one thing she did, she baked a real, home made blueberry pie! Her first! And folks, it was delicious. She was so proud of herself! She got so many compliments. Then she made a half a dozen jars of blueberry jelly... equally delicious I might add!

But the point of all this is: Do something unexpected. Try something new. Create a new adventure for yourself. Don't think on it to long. Just do it!

:: My Birthday month: Day 7 ::

June 7- Take a day off from all technology.

Let it all go. Let the quiet and relaxation begin. Really. It always amazes me how many people I know that can't put their phones down for one little minute. True. Its so sad, it really is. Even at work. They are paying such close attention to those phones. How do they get anything done? It seems to me, that anymore, they cannot even hold a real conversation anymore.  Sadly, it has all come down to texting. Small words. Words without much meaning. written quickly, and without thought.

As for me, I like quiet. I like having moments to meditate. Don't get me wrong... I check my phone. During breaks, lunch, one in a while... I keep the ringer off. Anyone who know me understands that I do not know when they are calling me. Period. I am not a slave to my phone. I am not available 24 hours a day. I do not care whose status has changed, or who has updated their Facebook page. I do not care that you just loaded pics on Instagram. I will get to them when I do. I don't have that kind of time. My time is so special to me. It is mine. I have a life, a life away from my phone. There are so many things to do... away from electronics.

It's time to get back to nature. Take a hike. Go camping somewhere for the weekend. Leave the electronics at home. Get to know your family again. Really talk to them and to your friends. Face to face. Meet for coffee, for lunch, for a game night at your house, go bike riding or walking with your neighbors, get involved with your community... there are so many things to do. In person. It's time to move away from too much time on the computer, the phone, the game system, etc; etc...

I am moving forward with my way of leaving my electronics behind for the weekend, with just checking my phone a few times a day, and embracing life. Life outside of electronics. I have been making lists again of all the things I hope to do this summer, and it's a big one! I plan on having tons of fun! Getting together with friends and family, and spending tons of time in nature! Can't wait! And quite honestly, I'm hoping for the same for you. Ditch that phone and get real.

My Birthday Month: Day 6

June 6, 2018- Time to Trust Yourself {Have some confidence in your abilities}

You've already made several lists that should go far in helping you determine the things that are most important to you, things you want to include in your daily life, things that benefit you as a person and adding all those things that make you happy and healthy and feel good. So, why are we scared to really begin this program?nWell, it feels a little selfish in some ways, yet in other ways it is actually allowing us to be who we really are, our "authentic selves". What could be better then that? Think about that. It is much easier living honestly everyday, then pretending to be someone you're not. If we do that, then I do believe that everything else in our lives will fall in line perfectly.

:: My Birthday Month: Day 5

June 5, 2018-Get rid of self-criticism

All too often, we are our own worst enemy aren't we? As I spoke about earlier, it was much easier for me to find the things I don'r like about myself, and a real struggle to find the things that I love about myself. Why in the world is that? That's certainly not a positive way to be, nor is that very positive thinking at all. The idea now is to concentrate on all this positive facets about ourselves. Really think about the things you love about yourself, and keep that in the forefront of your thoughts of all times. In that way, you can feel good about yourself. And look at all the positive things you're going to be doing every day to help yourself get there. Eating right, getting some exercise in, keeping a positive attitude at all times can't help but rid us of our bad thoughts. And this... is a very good thing indeed.

:: My Birthday Month: Day 4

June 4, 2018- Practice Self-Love.

This is where we put to practice all those things we wrote down on our list of the things that we need for ourselves and our bodies, and our minds. This should be in our daily schedules. The biggest part of our daily schedule in fact. In most everything that we do it is worth considering the "how" we do it. And the how is in a kind way to ourselves. In a way that benefits ourself. For instance, many of us work an 8 hour day. While at work surround yourself with things you love to look at. Keep a small journal for quick thoughts that come to you. Write down your day dreams and put them into action. Dress in a way that makes you feel beautiful etc:,,etc... during breaks, go for a quick walk, eat a good and balanced lunch, drink some tea, drink lot's of water, and most important, keep that attitude good.

Don't be that person who complains about everything. Be the happy person who keeps everyone upbeat and smiling. Believe me, it helps a lot.

:: My Birthday Month: Day 3

For June 3, 2018- Write down all the things you love about you!

This is a special list to remind you just how special you really are. And, it's not easy either. It's way easier to think about all the things I would love to change and improve on, rather than the things that I  love. I find that it takes a lot of thought to come up with those things.  But, it's a list that I am determined to make today one way or the other. What's going on your list?

:: My Birthday Month: Day 2 ::

Todays theme is:

June 2- Exercise, sleep, listening to my body

This stuff really takes a little bit of time to consider. For instance, exercise. Who likes to exercise? I really don't. Even though it's very important, I've always felt like I don't have the time. Really? I know, it's an excuse that most of us use. And, that excuse must go. So, I've decided to think about what kinds of exercise I enjoy and then schedule time for those.

Sleep. Sometimes I get enough of it, sometimes I don't. It's a scheduling problem. It's getting to bed at a decent time instead of staying up to watch the news, do some journaling, etc...etc.., it's time for me to try to stick to a schedule. Get to bed at the same time every night, get up at an earlier time, and then be able to schedule all these things I really want to get into my day. everybody needs a good nights sleep to function at 100% during the day, and feel good, I'm really going to work at this.

My Body: I'm taking into account all that my body really needs daily. In every way. from the food that I'm eating {make weekly menus ahead of time}, to the exercise of choice I add for the day, to personal care I need, to my creative side and what I will do daily to fulfill that angle as well. There is sure a lot to scheduling a good day for yourself isn't there? And that is the answer right there. Come up with really good daily schedules. Schedule everything you want to do in the day and then begin to whittle that list away until your done. Taking into account time to rest, meditate, create...etc

Well, that's what I'm doing today. Creating a perfect schedule for myself, creating weekly menus, choosing the perfect exercise for every day. Whew!!!
